02 januari We Survived Day 1 and Feel Skinnier AlreadyI counted the broasted chicken as 8 WW points. I peeled off the skin and peeled off the meat and weighed it and then added an extra point just for the fact that it was broasted and not baked. We ended up getting carry-out instead of eating at the restaurant because all of the grocery shopping wore me out. I did pretty good at the grocery store. I got food for four dinners, apples, celery, radishes, strawberries (they were on sale!), yogurt, oatmeal and lots of other healthy foods. After dinner I did quite a bit of food prep so I'm sure to have ready-to-eat snacks the rest of the week. And, I even cut up some fresh green beans and ham for tomorrow night's dinner. All Bruce has to do is put it in the crock pot. Here's a good diet tip. Cumberland Gap ham is pretty low fat. You can have two ounces of it for only one WW point. Here in Northern Indiana, our stores sell it as whole ham, chubs, sliced, and diced. The more processed (cut up) it is, the more expensive, so I usually get a large chub and cut it up and freeze part of it. Another tip... Add Splenda to cut up strawberries and leave them in the refrigerator overnight. For dessert the next night, use this as topping on a slice of angle food cake and add a plop of fat free cool whip. Absolutely delicious and very low-calorie and low fat! I ended up drinking three glasses of water today and three Diet Cokes. Wow, this is a huge step forward for me. Around 10pm I had another caffeine-withdrawal headache so I popped another DC and it quickly soothed my symptoms. I think I drank the whole can in about five minutes. Bruce didn't do so good today. He didn't peel off the chicken skin. And, he also had a cheeseburger. His rational was that it was small so it couldn't be that bad. That man needs a nutritionist. I actually feel like I lost weight today. I'm not bloated as has become the norm lately, and after dinner I felt comfortably full, but not at all stuffed. Well, it's 11:45pm and I never did squeeze in any exercise today. Maybe I should plan on doing it before dinner tomorrow. Somehow I have to work it in! |
