05 januari George Foreman is a Dieter's Best FriendI went to a movie this afternoon with my friend Kelly. She started a diet this week, too. We made it through the movie with no popcorn! An absolute first for both of us. And, our favorite Mexican restaurant is right next to the theater and we didn't stop in for chips and salsa with margaritas. OMG... what willpower we both have. I invited her for dinner at my house, but since she's on low carb and I'm on low fat, she couldn't eat the dinner I had planned. Thinking of what I had that might work I suggested chicken breasts, cauliflower with cheese and salad. Perfect... that would work for both of us. The only problem was my chicken breasts were frozen solid. I pulled out my trusty George Foreman grill and placed three (frozen stiff) chicken breasts on it, on medium heat. As they started to thaw, I sprinkled each with seasoning salt and garlic powder. As they were cooking I mixed up a bag of Light Caesar Salad and put the cauliflower in the microwave to steam. Delicious low-fat/low-carb dinner in about 15 minutes. So, be sure to stock your freezer with those handy 3 or 4 pound bags of frozen boneless, skinless chicken breasts and, as long as you have a George Foreman grill, you can whip up a quick dinner even if you don't have time to thaw the chicken. |
